The New Yorker will join the Knicks after an agreement for the Oklahoma City Thunder to indemnify his contract.

This is what a source told The Associated Press, anonymously.

There was no official announcement.

The 31-year-old native of the Bronx is set to receive nearly $ 74 million in the next two campaigns.

OKC acquired him in June, in the exchange involving Al Horford.

Walker has experienced knee trouble often, dating back to his days playing for the Hornets.

Last season, he averaged 19.3 points per game in 43 games. The previous season, he took part in 56 games.

Walker has been a member of four all-star teams.

He played his first eight seasons with Charlotte, surpassing Dell Curry as the team’s leading scorer in history.
