Kemba Walker agrees on a buyout with OKC and is likely to join the New York Knicks

Kemba Walker has agreed on a buyout with the Oklahoma Ciy Thunder and will most likely join the New York Knicks. The US media report unanimously.

Both Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) and Shams Charania (The Athletic) report that Walker will join the New York Knicks when he goes through the waiver process. The Guard still had a two-year contract with OKC that would have brought him around $ 74 million.

How much money Walker is now giving up to join the Knicks is not yet known. The Thunder acquired the point guard in June through a trade with the Boston Celtics and also received the 16th pick in the 2021 draft. In return, OKC sent Big Man Al Horford and Moses Brown to Beantown.

Walker didn’t even wear the Thunder jersey. Last season, the builder played 43 times for the Celtics, in which he put on 19.3 points and 4.9 assists on average. In his two years with the Celtics, the four-time all-star repeatedly had knee problems, which is why Boston finally traded the guard.

Walker is now returning to his hometown of New York, the 31-year-old grew up in the Bronx and was already toying with an engagement in Madison Square Garden in the Free Agency in 2019, before finally opting for the Celtics.
