Viktor Axelsen brought down the Olympic champion in Rio in 2016 to shine in gold in Tokyo. The Dane, bronze medalist five years ago in Brazil, dominated
the Chinese Long Chen in two sets (21-15; 21-12). All in 51 minutes.
Viktor Axelsen, world champion in 2017 in Glasgow, is the first non-Asian badminton player to be titled at the Olympic Games, since Poul-Erik Høyer in 1996 in Atlanta (Georgia).
