The number of infections has also risen to 3.5 million after another 35,867 cases were detected since Tuesday. Indonesia imposed a partial lockdown on July 9 in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus on the islands of Bali and Java, where more than 50 percent of the population lives.
The Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi, indicated on Monday that Indonesia has exceeded the peak of infections and affirmed that the occupation in hospitals is decreasing, although it warned that cases are increasing in some areas of the country.
