On Wednesday, there were nine infections within the player group and staff. The number of test rounds has since been increased to keep the situation under control. The club did not announce which players are infected, but new players such as Ulrik Jenssen and Emil Bergström have few opportunities to respond to their new teammates due to the situation. Precisely the practice matches in which this was supposed to happen have now been cancelled. Willem II hopes to be able to add one more game to the preparation.
The concerns about the corona infections are accompanied by those about the thin selection of Willem II. For example, the team did not find replacements for the departed Vangelis Pavlidis (AZ) and Mike Trésor Ndayishimiye (KRC Genk). Their positions are still filled, but there are not many options.
