Feces in parks: several reports

As the summer season is in full swing, the City reminds pet sitters that they have the obligation to pick up their animals’ droppings when they are in a public place such as a sports field, a park, etc. a green space or an ecological area, among others.

This recall follows in particular several reports made by the population. Observable in several places, the problem is particularly heightened around Des Ormeaux Park and the baseball field in Sainte-Marguerite Park.

In spite of numerous efforts of communication, field posting and awareness raising, it is clear that some owners are still doing the regulations. Faced with this observation, a more frequent police presence will be ensured around problematic places. Depending on the situation, a pet owner who violates this duty may face a ticket ranging from $ 50 to $ 400.

The initiative aims to allow the entire population to enjoy clean public facilities when going outside. Trois-Rivières invites dog owners to go to dog parks to get their animals moving. Dessureault, Émilien-Labarre and Pie-XII parks will meet this need.
