After the third place achieved in the Copa América 2021, Colombian footballers return to their respective European clubs. Some with good news, others with regular news.
Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina and Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz returned to work with Naples on Monday under coach Luciano Spalletti, after finishing their last days of vacation.
Ospina, who was the starter and captain in third place obtained in the Cup, and Fabián, semi-finalist with Spain in the European Championship, met Spalletti, who replaced Gennaro Gattuso, at the Naples technical center in Castel Volturno (about 50 kilometers from the city), the club reported in an official note.
Both joined a group preparing for their debut in Serie A, set on August 22 against Venice, in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, after the friendly victory against Bayern Munich.
The Spaniard, a former Real Betis player, began his preseason with some training sessions in the gym; the Antioqueño, former Arsenal player, did the same with group work.
In the next season, Naples will play the Europa League, after being left out of the Champions League places on the last day.
