The Danish crown prince Frederik is very happy with the gold medal that badminton player Viktor Axelson won during the Olympic Games on Monday. He congratulates the athlete extensively on Instagram.

“So, Viktor Axelsen!! Congratulations on the GOLD! Another fantastic day for the Danish athletes in Tokyo!” writes Frederik. The country now has two gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Frederik also takes some time for the Danish track cyclists, who set an Olympic record during qualifying on Sunday evening. “They will be exciting to follow!”
Finally, the prince takes a moment to reflect on hurdle runner Sara Slott Petersen, who ended her athletic career on Monday. “It was a semi-final this time, but we all remember that she won Olympic silver in Rio five years ago.”
