Czech Republic handicapped against Red Devils: next to top striker Schi…

Four players must ultimately drop out of the Czech squad for the double World Cup qualifier against Belarus (September 2) and Belgium (September 5). It concerns defenders Ondrej Kudela, Jan Boril and Jakub Brabec and substitute goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar. Brabec cancels for personal reasons, the other three are injured.

The 34-year-old Kudela missed the last European Championship due to a suspension after a racist incident in the game between his club Slavia Prague and Rangers this spring. The central defender then crossed the line against Glen Kamara and was banned for ten games. Now he is struggling with the knee, according to the Czech association.

His teammates at Slavia Prague Jan Brobil, who is a regular left back, and Kolar are also out with an injury. Central defender Jakub Brabec (ex-Genk, now Viktoria Pilsen) canceled for personal reasons.

Substitutes are goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek (Viktoria Pilsen), defenders Filip Kasa (Viktoria Pilsen), Tomas Wiesner (Sparta Prague), Vaclav Jemelka (Sigma Olomouc), midfielder Jaromír Zmrhal (Slovan Bratislava) and strikers Stanislav Tecl (Slavia Prague) and Martin Dolezal (Jablonec) summoned. Top striker Patrik Schick is missing due to a suspension, Michael Krmencik (ex-Club Brugge) was not selected.

The Czech Republic is coming to the King Baudouin Stadium on September 5. The first leg at the end of March in Prague ended 1-1. Belgium leads in group E with 7 out of 9 ahead of the Czech Republic (4 out of 9).
