Cuban closer Aroldis Chapman went on injured list

Just when they were living their best moment of the season, The New York Yankees have had to put Cuban closer Aroldis Chapman on the 10-day disabled list.

The Holguin, who this year attended his seventh All-Star Game, was put off duty due to inflammation in the left elbow, according to the report released by the official website of Mayor League Baseball.

From April 33, the Caribbean flamethrower had seven consecutive starts without allowing a touchdown, which showed that he had overcome a terrible adverse streak that led him to endure nine lines in three visits to the box.

At the time of the announcement of the New York team -winner of eight of its last 10 commitments-, Chapman he had 23 saves (just one of 300 in a 12-season career), with 68 strikeouts in 39.2 innings and a 3.63 ERA, the worst of his statistic in the best baseball in the world.

His spot as closer for the Bronx squad should go to Chad Green.
