The sports venue with the largest capacity in Gipuzkoa, the Real Sociedad Reale Arena stadium, will be able to accommodate almost 12,000 spectators, exactly 11,850, from the next match it hosts, which will be the Gipuzkoan Second Division derby between Sanse and Eibar on September 11 at 4:00 p.m. The new measures decreed by the LABI will allow from September 1 an increase in the capacity of sports stadiums from the current 20% to 30%.

This new modification in the capacity of the sports facilities affects a good number of clubs in the territory that with the start of the competitions will be able to count on a greater presence of their fans in the matches they play at home. As a general rule, in venues with a capacity of less than 1,600 spectators, the maximum number of people may not exceed 600 indoors and 800 outdoors. On the other hand, those with a capacity of between 1,600 and 5,000 people will be able to accommodate 800 people indoors and 1,200 outdoors, while in facilities with a capacity greater than 5,000 people, the maximum capacity is 30%.

More than ten thousand followers of the Real were left without a ticket to go to Anoeta to witness the last league match against Levante, due to the 20% limit imposed by the Basque Government. Only 8,000 blue and white fans were the lucky ones to be able to attend the field and according to the new decree issued by the LABI that will come into force this Wednesday, a good number of highlights will still not be able to go to the Amara stadium. The new limit in the Reale Arena to see the matches of the first team and Sanse barely grows to 11,850 spectators for the next few weeks.

Ipurua will also experience an increase in public to witness Eibar matches. Until now the maximum number of gunsmith followers was set at 1,610 people, now it can be raised to 2,415.

The Real Unión made their debut last weekend in the First RFEF with a victory against the Doge of Madrid by two goals to one at the Stadium Gal in the presence of 700 fans. From now on, Gal’s capacity grows to 1,500 people.

The Real women’s team starts the season this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Zubieta. The Z7 field, having a capacity of less than 1,600 spectators, will be able to accommodate a maximum of 800 people in the stands.

The LEB Gold League will start in October, so if LABI maintains these same restrictions until then, Illunbe could not host more than 3,300 spectators to watch Gipuzkoa Basket matches.

Both IDK Euskotren and Super Amara Bera Bera will share the José Antonio Gasca sports court to play their home games. Bera Bera will start the league competition on September 11, while Azu Muguruza’s will do so two weeks later, on September 25, and if there are no changes to the restrictions, both squads will have a maximum capacity of 800 spectators.

The Asobal League kicks off next week and Bidasoa Irun will host Anaitasuna on the first day in Artaleku on September 11. The Irundarra field will be able to host up to a maximum of 800 fans according to the new LABI decree.
