Companies that implement vaccine policies may lift indoor population restrictions | Ontario | Outbreak

[Epoch Times August 26, 2021](Epoch Times reporter Chu Fangming reported in Toronto) Ontario’s Chief Health Officer, Dr. Kieran Moore, said on Tuesday (August 24) that companies that support the implementation of vaccination policies hope The provincial government can remove restrictions on the number of people indoors in these companies.

Moore said at a news conference for weekly updates on the epidemic that he hopes that more than 90% of the people in Ontario who can be vaccinated will be vaccinated, but this is an “big goal.”

Moore repeatedly emphasized that increasing the vaccination rate is the key to containing the epidemic in Ontario.

He said that he very much supports many companies that implement vaccine policies. He believes that the government should evaluate this. If everyone is vaccinated, the infection rate will be very low. He hopes that the government will support these companies to go further, that is, to lift the indoor population limit. This applies to different venues, including ice hockey, basketball and baseball games.

Ontario still has restrictions on the number of people indoors in some facilities. In terms of sports and recreational and fitness facilities, the number of indoor spectators can reach 50% of the venue capacity, or up to 1,000 people, whichever is less; outdoor venues with fixed seats can accommodate up to 75% or 15,000 people. Similarly, the lesser of the two shall prevail.

Recently, many sports organizations have announced vaccination policies. Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment announced that all fans and employees must present a vaccination certificate or a negative test result before they can enter its venue.

The Ontario Hockey League requires all spectators to show proof of full vaccination.

The Toronto Blue Jays baseball team said that starting from September 13, people entering the Rogers Center are required to provide a vaccination certificate or a negative test certificate.
