-To tell the truth, the championship was practically perfect, considering that I managed to hang myself in five of the six tests that I had presented myself to, and also taking into account the fact that we did not practice team boats in any At the moment, only in the races themselves and they gave me four of the five medals. But in the K-1,500 I missed the medal, which would have been the icing on the cake.
-How was it to sign for Huelva?
-As in recent years, in my club (Sirio) I had no possibility of making any type of team boat in the Spanish Championships and Cups because I have no teammates. At the beginning of the season, Mario, the Tartessos coach, got in touch with my coach, Óscar Martínez del Cueto, and offered him the possibility of doing K-4 and K-2. I really wanted to compete in team boats after several years and together we decided that it could be a good experience for me. So, finally, we proceeded to the club change.
-Now, the next objective is the Sprint World Championship, in K-4, in September, in Portugal. What do you think?
-To be honest, I am very optimistic about the results that my colleagues and I can obtain in Portugal. It is true that you always have to keep your feet on the ground, but training for just one week we managed to get fourth place in the European Championship and now for the World Cup, which will be played in a few dates, we will have more time to concentrate to prepare. and try to improve.
-Good sensations?
-I had a very good feeling last time, in the European Championship, with my K-4 teammates. We understand each other quite well and we really want to, which is very important. I can only say that I know that the four of us are going to go out and give everything, to empty ourselves on the track and show our best version, regardless of the position we get. But, I think, we can be surprising.
-Have you been proposed to join the national team in a permanent concentration regime for next season?
-There’s nothing official yet, although I am counting on them to concentrate me permanently.
-Is it being your best sports campaign this 2021?
-You could say yes, since despite the fact that in previous years I have achieved several national medals, both individually and in team boats, never at the level that I have done this year. To all this, my classification is also added to attend the last European Championship and, within a few dates, also the World Cup, this to be played in Portugal.
