Because with ex-coach Marco Rose (44) Herrmann never got beyond a reserve role: zero goals, three assists, and only 9 times in the starting line-up.
He is blossoming again under Adi Hütter (51)!
Already in the 1-0 cup win in Kaiserslautern, Herrmann was allowed to play right from the start – making good speed on the right side. And also in his anniversary game against Bayern he had a creamy day: Right at the beginning of the game, Herrmann had a huge chance to make it 1-0. He initiated the opening goal a little later with a great pass to captain Lars Stindl (32).
It’s the best man ever!
For Hütter, the cult kicker is by no means a reservist. He’s a key player in the new coach! The coach: “How Patrick goes into depth with his runs is extremely important for our game.”
Herrmann himself couldn’t imagine a better anniversary at the moment than in front of around 23,000 fans in Borussia-Park: “To be honest: that was a dream!”
► There are only six other players in the “Club of 300” at Borussia: including Wolfgang Kleff (321 games) and Uwe Kamps (390). Herrmann laughing: “Maybe I’ll even manage to overtake one or the other Borussia.”
Well possible in this top form!
