The women’s basketball league starts the new season with 14 teams at the end of September – two more than before. The descent was suspended due to the corona, but there are two promoters in the Rheinland Lions and the Capitol Bascats Düsseldorf. For BC Pharmaserv Marburg and the other teams in the top German league, this means that instead of 22, 26 main round games have to be played. And: Instead of two, four relegated teams are planned to come back to the twelve-league.
The Blue Dolphins do not want to have anything to do with the relegation, but rather play for the top spots again. The team has remained almost unchanged after bronze in the previous season, head coach Christoph Wysocki is also still there. Everyone is in the starting blocks: The intensive preparation begins on Monday. The first competitive game is on the weekend of 18./19. September on the program: in the cup at second division Dillingen Diamonds.
Young Dolphins start with Mittelhessen-Derby
It is now also known how things start and continue in the Bundesliga: The Marburg kick-off is planned for Saturday, September 25 – directly against the reigning champions. The game against the Rutronik Stars Keltern starts at 7 pm, so the BC remains at its “standard time” for games in the Georg-Gaßmann-Halle. However, this must necessarily be deviated from on the following weekend: After the away game is to be played in Hanover on Friday, October 1st, 6:30 pm, the game against Osnabrück is planned for Sunday, October 3rd, 4:00 pm.
The schedule does not provide for a winter break. The main round should be completed by mid-March, followed by the playoffs. The framework plan for the 2nd Bundesliga North is similar, although there is a break in the season of twelve around Christmas. The second BC selection starts on September 25th with a central Hessian derby against the Bender Baskets Grünberg, the jump ball should be at 3:30 p.m. The aim of the Young Dolphins, who are now being trained by Klaudia Grudzien, is to stay in the league.
