Silivri Municipality continues its efforts to promote the local products grown in the district to whole Turkey with the festivals it organizes, while continuing to support sports and athletes. The award-winning tournaments held within the scope of the 59th Yogurt Festival organized by Silivri Municipality started with great excitement. The tournaments, which host many competitions from basketball to beach volleyball, from chess to backgammon, are the scene of fierce competitions. Players and teams ranking high in tournaments are rewarded with various gifts.
EXCITEMENT STARTED IN THE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
The 3×3 Basketball Tournament, which was held on Friday, August 27, was the first of the award-winning tournaments organized as part of the Yoghurt Festival. The competitions, which started at 17.30 at Aydan Siyavuş Basketball Court, ended at 22:00. The excitement of the second day of the tournament, in which 33 teams took part, continued on Saturday, August 28. The tournament will end on Sunday, August 29, with the final stage.
THE CHAMPION IS ANNOUNCED IN THE BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Beach Volleyball Tournament was held at Silivri Beach Kumluk Mevkii on Saturday, 28 August at 11:00. The tournament, attended by 14 teams, ended at 18.30. Adrian team, who came first in the tournament, won full gold, second Deydey team won half gold, and third Gümüşyaka team won quarter gold. Trophies and medals were also presented to the three teams that ranked high.
QUALIFICATION ROUNDS COMPLETED IN THE BACKGAMMON TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, August 28, at 12:00, the excitement of the Backgammon Tournament started. The qualifying rounds were held in the tournament, which was held next to the Atatürk Square Police Station. The first day of the competitions, in which 128 backgammon players participated, was completed at 18.00. The tournament will end with the final matches to be held tomorrow.
60 LICENSED PLAYERS SHOW UP IN THE CHESS TOURNAMENT
The first day of the Chess Tournament organized by Silivri Municipality in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Turkish Chess Federation has passed. In the tournament, which is also included in the international scoring, 60 licensed players appear. The Chess Tournament held at Alibey Sports Hall will end on Monday, 30 August.
