Auction house is auctioning basketball legend Michael Jordan’s sports underpants

New York – Six NBA championships, two Olympic gold medals and almost 20 years of professional league – the vita of former basketball superstar Michael Jordan (58) is more than impressive. The US sports broadcaster ESPN even voted Jordan the best NBA player of all time. From 1984 to 1998 he played intermittently for the Chicago Bulls professional team. During this time, the now 58-year-old also celebrated his greatest successes.

Therefore, the native New Yorker has many fans who would like to get hold of clothes from his active athletic days. The coveted items of clothing can be acquired through auction houses, for example. As the US online portal TMZ reports, the auction house Lelands offers a large collection of Jordan’s things.

Probably the most curious: a pair of sports underpants – entry cost: 500 US dollars (approx. 424 euros). An auction insider is said to have revealed to TMZ that the shorts were probably worn regularly and also “should show strong signs of use. But at least the item of clothing has a cleaning ticket – which certainly does not reduce the authenticity.

Sneaker for over $ 600,000

Signed autograph cards, sneakers and jerseys can also be auctioned. The fact that Jordan’s equipment from his former sports days is very popular with fans should be clear in view of his successful career. Last year the auction house Christies auctioned a pair of shoes that Jordan once wore to a basketball game: for 615,000 US dollars (around 521,000 euros).
