ATP – Toronto> Very, very heavy for Nadal in Canada

The Toronto Masters 1000 draw has just taken place and it was not at all lenient with Rafael Nadal.

The Spaniard, beaten in the round of 16 in Washington by an excellent Lloyd Harris, could find the South African in the second round if the latter defeats a qualifier. In case he takes his revenge, Rafa will find Kyrgios, Opelka or Dimitrov on his way. Certainly, the Bulgarian is no longer scary, but the first two cities could well do him “harm”. In the quarterfinals, it could be Bautista Agut or Schwartzman and Tsitsipas in the half, but this second part of the table is extremely dense with the presence of Cilic, Auger-Aliassime, Karatsev, Norrie, Khachanov and the French Humbert and Paire… Irrespirable.

Moreover, on the French side, Benoît will also have the opportunity to take revenge on McDonald’s, still in contention in the American capital, while Ugo will play the Italian Sonego. For its part, “La Monf” inherited a strong draw with Korda, Millman and Shapovalov in particular. This may be once again very complicated for our Frenchies.

The potential quarter-finals:
Daniil Medvedev – Hubert Hurkacz
Denis Shapovalov – Andrey Rublev
Félix Auger ‐ Aliassime – Stefanos Tsitsipas
Diego Schwartzman – Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal’s potential route to the final:
First round : Bye
Second turn : Harris
Round of 16 : Opelka/Kyrgios
Quarter-finals : Schwartzman / Bautista Agut
Semi-finals : Tsitsipas
Finale : Medvedev
