ATP – Toronto> Nadal: “I’m not at my best right now”

Seed number 2 in Toronto and two-time Rogers Cup title holder, Rafael Nadal arrives in Canada with some doubts, especially in terms of his foot. Injured during the semi-final at Roland Garros against Novak Djokovic as he recently revealed, the Mallorcan has clearly not yet recovered as evidenced by his complicated match against Jack Sock in Washington and his loss in stride facing Harris.

At a press conference in Canada, Rafa admitted that he will still have to wait before reaching a certain peak of form: “I come here to play the best I can and to keep improving after a few difficult months for different reasons. This is the reason why I am not in the best of my shape at the moment. But I also think I’m training better than I did in Washington, so I’m looking forward to doing well here and being able to compete satisfactorily. It is true that my foot annoys me sometimes more than I would like, but I need to find the good feeling with this foot. I need a few weeks with less pain to gain confidence in my movements. “
