Zwickau: Police correct information on sword attackers | Free press

One E too much or too little makes a huge difference in this case. On Tuesday, the Zwickau police department corrected its information about the unknown attacker who hit a group of people from Zwickau with a sword over the weekend and is still on the run. In the original report, the police said that the perpetrator wore a “black cape”, i.e. a black cloak. The image came to mind of someone who, perhaps as a role-player, uses swords. But this is not the case. As the police announced on Tuesday, the man was not wearing a cape, but a black cap – a baseball cap on his head.

In addition, further interviews with those involved revealed more details about the still unknown attacker. Accordingly, the perpetrator should have noticeably large eyebrows. He also appeared to be physically fit. His black T-shirt and his black baseball cap also had white labels. The police also repeated the information that he wore short gray trousers with his black sneakers, was around 30 years old, was between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall and had a Central European complexion. The man had attacked a group of people on Marchlewskistraße in Neuplanitz on Sunday night with a katana sword, a weapon used by samurais. The perpetrator is said to have spoken in Polish. His motive is so far in the dark. A 34-year-old was severely cut. (ael)
