Who is Mete Gazoz, who broke records in archery?

Our national athlete, who was born on June 8, 1999 in Istanbul, received archery training from an early age. Continuing his career in Istanbul Archery Youth and Sports Club, 19-year-old Gazoz represented Turkey for the first time at the European Games held in Baku.

He won the individual silver medal at the 2016 Nottingham European Championships.

Gazoz, who became famous throughout the country by representing our country in the 2016 Rio Olympics, received support from local athletes as well. In particular, the support messages about Mete Gazoz from Arda Turan’s social media accounts allowed Mete to be widely known and supported.

He was born in 1999 in Istanbul. At the age of 6, he became interested in archery and started taking lessons. With the support of his family, he went to swimming lessons until he was 8 years old in order to improve his shoulders in order to advance in archery. He also played basketball to ensure coordination in archery. He went to painting course for 1 year to improve his eyesight and attention skills. Gazoz, who took a piano course and played the piano for two years in order to contribute to eye and hand coordination, improved himself by taking education in various branches of art and sports.
