FootballThe new football season has now started, but the transfer mill is still running at full speed. Which trendsetters leave the Jupiler Pro League? Who throws the millions? You can follow all transfer developments at home and abroad in our Transfer Talk on a daily basis.

Yaremchuk to AS Roma?

According to the leading ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’, AS Roma wants to make a serious attempt to get Roman Yaremchuk (25) to the Italian capital. The top scorer of AA Gent has been on a list with the Roman superpower for a long time, but according to the ‘Gazzetta’, José Mourinho as the new coach of Roma would personally insist on the arrival of Yaremchuk.

However, in the entourage of the player we learn that Roma have not yet made any concrete attempt to effectively attract Yaremchuk. It is almost certain that the Ukrainian international AA will leave Gent this summer. There is interest from Italy, Germany and England, but the clubs there are still busy with the composition of their cores for the new season. (RN)

“Anderlecht have their eye on Zirkzee”

In his search for a new striker, Anderlecht ended up with Joshua Zirkzee (20), Voetbal International reports. The Dutch talent is owned by Bayern Munich, but he has hardly any prospect of playing minutes there. And so Anderlecht, like the Italian Hellas Verona, would be interested in taking over Zirkzee on a rental basis. In real estate circles, however, it can be heard that Zirkzee may be unfeasible for purple and white, so it remains to be seen to what extent it will push through in this file. Last season, Zirkzee was active in Serie A at Parma. He only played four games due to injuries. (SVL)

United and Real agree on Varane

Manchester United announced on Tuesday that they had reached an agreement with Real Madrid about the transfer of French international Raphael Varane. Varane, who won the World Cup with France and four times the Champions League with Real Madrid, still has to pass medical tests at the English top club.

According to British media, the transition would involve an amount of almost 40 million euros. Varane played more than 350 games for Real Madrid. With the Spanish club, the French international won three league titles (2011/12, 2016/17 and 2019/20) and the Champions League four times (2013/14, 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18). He has also won the Copa del Rey once (2013/14) and the Club World Cup four times (2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018). Real took over Varane from RC Lens in 2011.

Allegri beat Real Madrid for Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri has revealed he has rejected Real Madrid from coaching Juventus a second time. Allegri was appointed coach of the Bianconeri in May after Andrea Pirlo was sacked, who finished fourth in the Italian league with Juventus.

The veteran Allegri led the Turin top club to five consecutive Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia wins and two Champions League finals during his previous tenure. Allegri (53) said on Tuesday that he had been offered an offer to coach Madrid before Ancelotti was appointed head coach: “I have to thank Real Madrid and its chairman for the opportunity given to me. I thought about it and chose Juventus,” he said in a press conference. “It was a gesture of love for a club that has given me a lot and that I enjoy coaching.”

“It is useless to introduce him and repeat what he has won. Perhaps the string of Serie A titles he has won is something impossible to match,” Juve president Agnelli told Allegri. “Every victory is achieved thanks to hard work. As ‘Max’ has said many times, winning is not for everyone. The goal is to be able to play for every possible trophy in March, after that we’ll see. Max will be Juventus’ coach for the next four years, he has what it takes to write an exciting new chapter for the club.”

Agnelli also confirmed that Giorgio Chiellini, who led Italy to their first European Championship triumph since 1968, will sign with the Old Lady.

National coach Vladimir Petkovic leaves Swiss national team for Bordeaux

Vladimir Petkovic, the coach of the Swiss national team, will be the new coach of Bordeaux. The Swiss Football Association (ASF) confirmed this today.

Petkovic, 57, took over the Swiss national team from Ottmar Hitzfeld in 2014 after the World Cup. In the seven years he was at the helm, Switzerland qualified for the European Championship in 2016, the World Cup in 2018 and the European Championship in 2021, where it stranded in the quarter-finals, eliminating world champions France along the way.

“After seven years at the helm of the Swiss national team, Vladimir Petkovic has asked the Swiss Football Association to end his current contract to take up a new challenge in French football,” the ASF statement read. . “The ASF has accepted this request and has reached an agreement with the national coach and his new employer, Girondins de Bordeaux, to terminate his contract. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the agreement.”

Petkovic has not coached a club since his time at Lazio (2012-2013). “I want to thank the federation for granting my wish and letting me leave for a new challenge,” added Petkovic. “It was seven wonderful years with the Nati, which I will never forget. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported and guided me during this period in making these successes possible for our country. We have already won twice in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. Now I want to see how Nati qualifies for the World Cup itself.”

KV Oostende gets striker, who immediately goes to Nancy on a rental basis

KV Oostende has attracted attacker Andrew Jung, who comes from Châteauroux, which was relegated from the French second division last season. Last season he played on loan for third division team Quevilly-Rouen, making him the top scorer of the series and forcing promotion to Ligue 2. The striker signs an agreement until 2025, but will first be loaned to sister club AS Nancy for two more seasons.

“Jung showed his qualities as a striker last season in National 1, the French third division,” said Executive President Gauthier Ganaye. “With 23 goals, he proved to have a tortinct instinct. However, the step from the French third division to the Belgian first division might be too abrupt, so a stopover at Nancy is opportune for the player and his career. Moreover, the player himself was also asking to work with Nancy first before taking the step abroad. Thanks to the synergy between our clubs, we can present such a trajectory to a player. So this is a fantastic transfer, both for KVO and for Nancy.”

KVO opened the Jupiler Pro League last weekend with a big 0-3 home defeat against Charleroi.

The 31-year-old Montenegrin has been transfer-free since his contract with Monaco expired at the end of June. He signed a two-year deal in the German capital, with an option for an additional season.
