The French Olympic selection mastered its subject against the Czech Republic and won a second victory in a row to take the lead of Group A (97-77). The French basketball players continue their show of strength in this tournament start.
The Czechs, very good early in the game (28-22), were however quickly overwhelmed by the tricolor offensive armada, powered by Evan Fournier (21 points) and Nando De Colo (17 pts, 8 assists).

France largely beat the Islamic Republic of Iran in the third and final group game of the Olympic men’s basketball tournament. (79-62). Never worried, the French did the job to build confidence before the quarter-finals. They were up to 22 points ahead. If the Iranians filled part of this gap in the second half thanks to Hamed Haddadi’s 18 points, the Blues ensured. The playing time was shared between the 12 French players and in particular Frank Ntilikina who is recovering from his muscle injury. Thomas Heurtel took the opportunity to register 16 points and lead the French attack.
