Tokyo 2020: Carlos Ortiz is sub-leader in Olympic golf

The golfer Carlos Ortiz continues with a good step within Tokyo 2020, since the tapatío assumed the sub-leadership of the Olympic tournament after consuming a good second round with 10 shots below par, which helped him to add a total of 132 points.

Tournament activities had a long hiatus due to the rain that fell on Tokyo, but Ortiz was able to keep up with a good pace by only falling behind American Xander Schauffele.

With this great performance by Ortiz (61st in the world ranking), the Mexican delegation has been enthusiastic about the possibility of getting a medal in the discipline of golf, something that would be a historical fact because our country has never achieved a medal in this sport within the Olympic Games.

Unlike Ortiz, the also Mexican Abraham Ancer has not had a good start to the tournament, and now he will have to turn the situation around in the third and fourth rounds of the competition, because only then will he be able to continue with the hope of getting on the podium.
