Three Argentines will compete from Monday in the Gstaad tennis Open – Diario El Ciudadano y la Región

The Argentines Federico Delbonis, Juan Ignacio Lóndero and Juan Manuel Cerúndolo will participate from this Monday in the Gstaad Tennis Open, Switzerland, a tournament that will award prizes for 481 thousand euros and will be played on a clay surface.

The Azulean Delbonis (48 in the ATP world ranking and recent semi-finalist in the ATP 500 in Hamburg) will face the local tennis player, Leandro Riedi (748) in the first round.

Meanwhile, the Cordovan Lóndero (121) will face a difficult opening crossing against the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor (115), who prevailed in the only confrontation between the two, produced in the final of the Challenger of Tampere 2018.

For his part, the Buenos Aires Cerúndolo (144), winner last February of the ATP 250 in Córdoba, will run into the French Hugo Gastón (165) at the start.

The Swiss Open, which has been held since 1968, has four Argentine champions throughout history. Guillermo Vilas from Mar del Plata won the titles in the 1974 and 1978 editions; while José Luis Clerc also from Buenos Aires celebrated in 1982.

For his part, the Buenos Aires Martín Jaite won the tournament in 1990, while the Buenos Aires Gastón Gaudio was consecrated in 2005.

The No. 1 seed, Canadian Denis Shapovalov (10), will draw the first round and make his direct debut in the second.
