The national team will play the 2023 World Cup Qualifier – Basketball

The Paraguayan team defeated Bolivia on the last day of Group B of the Pre-qualifier and, thanks to Chile’s triumph over Nicaragua, secured a ticket to the Americas Qualifier for the 2013 Basketball World Cup. The contest, which will have 16 participants, will award seven places in the next World Cup.

In the defining round of the last ticket to the Americas Qualifier for the next Basketball World Cup, the Paraguayan team won the pass thanks to the victory over Bolivia and Chile’s triumph over Nicaragua. In Thursday’s first match in Group B, Juan Pablo Feliú’s team won 77-49, breaking the streak of two consecutive losses in the key. At the end of the contest, the Albirroja needed the trans-Andean players to obtain the classification.

La Roja, host of the competition at the Olympic Training Center in the city of Santiago, defeated the Central Americans 82-63. The combination of results left Paraguay, Nicaragua and Bolivia with a balance of 1 (victory) -2 (defeats), but in the tiebreaker criteria, the national quintet was benefited in the points for and against (+21 with the -21 from Nicaragua and -76 from Bolivia).

In the championship, the Guaraní team had fallen 76-73 against Nicaragua on July 13 and 66-62 against Chile on July 14. For their part, from Group A the Bahamas and Cuba advanced. The stage of the 16 best will award seven places to the 2023 World Cup, which will be in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. The other classifieds are Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, the United States, Venezuela, and the US Virgin Islands.
