The Judo Federation warns the German coach Trajdos about slapping the athlete

The International Judo Federation has issued a “serious official warning” to German coach Martin Traiados, who was filmed before the fight at the Tokyo Olympics, shaking and slapping athletes.

On social media on Tuesday, a video showing how 54-year-old Claudia Pusa shakes and slaps the World Cup medalist on both cheeks before the 16th final fight against Sofia Esbass from Hungary.

Judo is an educational sport and therefore cannot tolerate behavior that is contrary to the judo moral code,” the IJF said on Wednesday.

32-year-old Trajdos lost up to 63 kilograms to Ezas in a fight.

“Looks like it wasn’t strong enough,” the German wrote on the coach’s slaps on Instagram before the IJF’s announcement. “I wish I had made headlines today for another reason,” she admitted.

“As I said, this is the ritual I want before the race. My coach is just doing what I want to be fueled, ”explained the judo wrestler.

Trajdos is a laureate of the 2019 World Championship bronze medal and the 2015 European Games champion. She also holds two European Championship bronze medals.
