The champion shook River

Colon hit first at the Monumental stadium: the Argentine soccer champion surprised River at its premiere in the Professional League: two minutes after a goal from Rodrigo Aliendro. And then he managed to extend the score even when he was already with one less footballer due to the expulsion of Gonzalo Piovi: Yéiler Góez scored 2-0 after one game.

The team of Eduardo Dominguez He managed to hit first after a good combination in attack in conjunction with a defensive failure by River: the wings were enabling Aliendro, who beat Maidana and defined to put Colón ahead.

However, the winner of the Professional League Cup was left with ten players after Gonzalo Piovi missed a very clear attack from Carrascal (a delicious post pass from Paradela).

The former Gymnastics himself would have, minutes later, the possibility of tying the match: at 17 minutes, Carrascal sent a cross that Paradela headed as required. The header hit the right post of Chicco, who was able to control the rebound.

Given the River was not managing to take advantage of the numerical superiority, at 29 minutes Gallardo decided to make a change: Braian Romero entered instead of Robert Rojas, thus disarming the line of five.

But even with one less footballer, Colón kept trying. And managed to increase the difference: Góez hooked and dismantled Paradela’s mark, then went to Bernardi, who overflowed and sent the center back for Yéiler’s own goal for 2-0, an advantage that remained until halftime.

In the second half, Gallardo moved the bank: Montiel, Matías Suárez and Girotti entered instead of Vigo, Paradela and Fontana. A search to achieve offensive enhancement to River on behalf of the detainee.

And then, with Colón already promoting a counterattack game, River had a clear play to discount: an overflow from the left side of Carrascal led to a header by Maidana that Garcés managed to clear.

Later, it was Romero who was twice close to discounting. First, in a required hand in hand with Chicco with little space that the archer himself diverted. And then headfirst after an Angileri cross.

At the end, Suárez managed to deduct from the head although it was not enough for Gallardo’s team to tie. And then, the champion shook River.
