TaShawn Thomas at Le Mans – The Team

Le Mans Sarthe Basket announced Monday the signing of US strong-winger TaShawn Thomas (2.03m; 28 years old) for the 2021-2022 season. Accustomed to the Champions League (BCL) whose MSB will play one of the qualifying tournaments, Thomas has been playing in the Israeli Championship since 2018, at Hapoel Holon then at Hapoel Jerusalem. He was voted in the BCL’s Top 5 in 2020 and won three Israel Cups. He was turning 17.5 points and 6.1 rebounds in BCL in 2020-2021.

Thomas is the third recruit from Le Mans after the French winger Valentin Chéry (ex-Paris). The Sarthois club has maintained a strong backbone from last season (7th in Jeep Elite) with Canadian leader Kaza Kajami-Keane, US back Scott Bamforth, young homewinger Kenny Baptiste, interior JFL Williams Narace and the Franco-US winger Terry Tarpey. The MSB also repatriated the young playmaker Matthieu Gauzin who was loaned to Châlons-Reims. The club says it is looking for a rear and an interior to complete the workforce of coach Elric Delord.
