At Todoroki Baseball Field in Nakahara Ward, Kawasaki City, Tama (Tama Ward, Kawasaki City) lost to Odawara 0-10 (five times cold) and disappeared in the first match.

Tama was a defensive team centered on third grade batteries, but could not prevent an attack that did not miss Odawara’s opportunity.

Tama showed tenacity with five attacks in an attempt to reduce the cold 10-point difference as much as possible. Pitcher Shinnosuke Otsuka (3rd year), who is 8th from the first death, hits the base with a pitcher assault hit, which is his second hit. I made a counterattack machine with 2nd and 3rd bases due to missteps and capture, but the tenacity is that much. The last batter was struck out and the short summer was over.

I have been focusing on the results of baseball while striving to balance my studies, and practiced efficiently with the aim of improving my team strength. However, the effects of the new coronavirus continued for a long time, limiting practice time. In addition, the ground was completely renovated from November last year to March this year, and the practice area was only enough to double the pitching practice area.

When the new team was formed last fall, pitcher Otsuka volunteered to become captain, saying, “I wasn’t the type to pull out aloud, but there were many modest members.” As the predicament continued, eight third-year students who said, “Originally, it was a good grade” (Pitcher Otsuka) were put together, focusing on the batteries of Pitcher Otsuka on the left arm and Catcher Kashibuchi (3rd year). We have built up a defensive team.

Pitcher Otsuka bit his lips at the defeat by 10 points, saying, “I’m disappointed because I was hit when I walked or hit by pitch.” However, he looked back at Nine and nodded, “It was a team that supported each other.” (Eiji Yasuda)
