Roadrunner and La-U Girls Hoops start winning this week in U16 women’s basketball

At the beginning of the fourth week of the first season of the Panamanian Women’s Basketball League – (LPBF U16), the girls from the Correcaminos de Colón (3-2) achieved their third consecutive victory by overcoming a score of 65 to 52 to Atlético Nacional of the National Police of Panama (3-2), match played on Tuesday, July 27 at the Roberto Durán Arena.

The partials were: Correcaminos de Colón 65 – 52 Atlético Nacional (8/20, 16/15; 16/16 and 13/13).

The best on offense for the Colon Road Runners were center Sashary Zamora with a double-double, scored 15 points, captured 15 rebounds, 13 defensively; followed by Katherine Armstrong with a double-double, scored 13 points and took 10 rebounds, 8 were defensive; setter Yissel Díaz with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 steals and Adamarielis Quiñones with 11 points, 5 rebounds and Karla Sutherland with 10 rebounds and 4.

For Atlético Nacional, the most prominent were the setter and captain Wyneth Acevedo Agrazal with 25 goals, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals; Vivian Grenald with 11 points and 9 rebounds, 8 defensive; Lia Castañedas with 6 units, 6 rebounds and center Iany Molinar with 11 rebounds, 8 were defensive and scored 4.

In the second hour, La-U Girls Hoops (5-0) maintain their unbeaten record in five starts by beating the Taurinas de Chiriquí (0-5) by a score of 73-55.

The partial ones were: La-U Girls Hoops 73 – 55 Taurinas de Chiriquí (17/16, 20/15; 16/10 and 20/14).

For La-U Girls Hoops, the best on offense were center Mariangel Cristina Concha with double-double, she was the most outstanding with 26 points and the leader under the boards with 25 rebounds, 13 were defensive; Diobelis Batista with 16 points and 7 rebounds, all defensive; the setter and captain Bianca Galagarza with 14 units, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 recovered balls and Alison Sánchez with 13.

On the part of Taurinas de Chiriquí, the setter and captain Nashua Staff with 19 points and 7 rebounds, 5 were defensive, 4 assists and 5 steals; center María Rivera with a double-double, scored 17 points and took 16 rebounds, 7 were defensive; Samira Kenar with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 recovered balls and Heidy García with 7.
