Olympic Games / Archery.- Inés de Velasco, eliminated in the round of 32 against the American Casey Kaufhold

MADRID, 28 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Spanish goalkeeper Inés de Velasco said goodbye to the individual women’s team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after losing in the round of 32 against the American Casey Kaufhold (7-3), in a duel played at the Yumenoshima final field .

De Velasco, debutant in a Games at age 19, could only score in the second and third rounds (1 and 2), while his rival did so in all five -except in the third-, which gave life to the Alkaline shooter for a few moments.

However, Casey Kaufhold, eighth seed in Tokyo, confirmed the favoritism and defeated the Spanish by far in the last two. Despite her 17 years, the North American was more regular in the general count and signed the goodbye of De Velasco, who in the mixed competition also could not overcome the initial round with Daniel Castro.
