The 2021/2022 season of Pallacanestro Biella officially starts with two important innovations. After two years as Team Manager comes the promotion on the field for Damiano Olla who will be the new general manager.
Olla, born in 1990, arrived in Biella in the summer of 2019 becoming the Rossoblu team manager, a role he had previously held at Auxilium Turin. For him also an experience in Cagliari as general secretary and merchandising manager.
“We met Damiano two years ago and in this period we were very impressed by his attachment to our colors and his deep dedication to work” comments the President Antonio Trada. “Damiano on the field has earned the trust that prompted us to offer him the role of new GM of the company and we are sure that he will be able to manage this new great responsibility in the best possible way”.
These are his first words as a gm laniero: “I thank President Trada and the company for their trust. I am curious and eager to try my hand at this role with commitment, dedication and a sense of responsibility towards the history of this club and the passion of all its fans ”.
The company also dissolves its reservations on the name of the new head coach who, for the 2021/2022 sports season, will be Andrea Zanchi, an expert coach born in 1964, arrived at the foot of the Mucrone after having toured Italy in the course of thirty years of career with stops in Venice, Montegranaro, Cremona, Casalpusterlengo, Scafati, Latina, Piacenza and Giulianova. He also has profound experience at the level of young people and the youth sector, most recently the Montegranaro basketball school in the 2019/2020 season.
These are his first words as a Biella head coach: “Honored to become part of the Biella Basketball Family. As soon as possible I will be in Biella to meet all the rossoblù staff and together start building the next sporting season with enthusiasm “,
