Novak Djokovic lost at the Olympics

Novak Djokovic lost to Alexander Zverev of Germany 1-6, 3-6, 6-1 on Friday in the tennis semifinals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Djokovic was attempting to become the first male athlete to win all four Grand Slam tournaments and Olympic gold in the same year. He won the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year and needed the US Open and Olympic titles to complete the feat.

Steffi Graf in 1988 is still the only tennis player to achieve the Golden Slam.

Zverev’s opponent in the gold medal match will be Karen Khachanov. The Russian beat Spanish Pablo Carreño Busta 6-3, 6-3.
