Richard Sherman, arrested for domestic violence with robbery
Free agent cornerback Richard Sherman faces multiple charges, including one for domestic violence with robbery, after he was arrested at his wife’s parents’ residence in Redmond, Washington, early Wednesday morning. Redmond Police Department Chief Darrell Lowe told a news conference that Sherman also faces charges of suspected resisting arrest.
Additionally, Washington State Patrol Captain Ron Mead noted at the press conference that his department is also ready to refer Sherman to prosecutors for a possible misdemeanor driving under the influence and hit-and-run charges. and escape related to a separate incident on the same Wednesday.
Sherman suffered minor injuries to his lower leg and ankle and was treated at a local hospital as a result of contact with a police dog, which was used in his apprehension, Lowe said. Sherman, 33, completed his third season with the 49ers in 2020 after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Seahawks. AJ Hawk on Aaron Rodgers: “I feel like he’ll be in Green Bay”
Former linebacker AJ Hawk played nine seasons as Aaron Rodgers teammate on the Packers and the two just spent a week together in Montana. Hawk doesn’t see Rodgers anywhere other than Green Bay this season.
Hawk told Pat McAfee that Rodgers was competitive in his recent golf game against Tom Brady, and that Rodgers will want to compete this season as well: “He likes to compete. Does he strike you as a guy who will sit down and walk away? Aaron looks great. It seems mentally in a good place ”.

Dwayne Haskins, injured in domestic violence incident
The wife of the Steelers’ backup quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, was formally charged Wednesday with domestic battery after an incident that occurred on July 3 at the hotel. Mahomes on Herbert: “My comments were taken out of context”
In more NFL news, this past Sunday during a round of the American Celebrity Golf Championship, Patrick Mahomes had fun with the fans. At one point, one of them told the Chiefs quarterback to “watch out for Justin Herbert next year.” To which Mahomes replied: “I’ll see it when I believe it.”
Following these comments, the video went viral as it appeared Mahomes lashed out at his rival quarterback in AFC West. However, during a telephone interview Tuesday with Jori Epstein of USA TODAY Sports, Mahomes clarified his comments, noting that he did not intend to poke fun at Herbert: “Yeah, I think it was taken out of context,” Mahomes told Epstein. “I was talking trash to all those Raiders, Broncos and Chargers fans. I have a lot of respect for him as a player ”.
In 2020 Herbert shone in his rookie season: In 15 games as a starter he threw 31 touchdowns, 10 INTs and set the record for passing yards for a rookie with 4,336 yards.
