Richard Sherman, arrested for domestic violence with robbery

Free agent cornerback Richard Sherman faces multiple charges, including one for domestic violence with robbery, after he was arrested at his wife’s parents’ residence in Redmond, Washington, early Wednesday morning. Redmond Police Department Chief Darrell Lowe told a news conference that Sherman also faces charges of suspected resisting arrest.

Additionally, Washington State Patrol Captain Ron Mead noted at the press conference that his department is also ready to refer Sherman to prosecutors for a possible misdemeanor driving under the influence and hit-and-run charges. and escape related to a separate incident on the same Wednesday.

Sherman suffered minor injuries to his lower leg and ankle and was treated at a local hospital as a result of contact with a police dog, which was used in his apprehension, Lowe said. Sherman was booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle at 04:08 AM Central Mexico. Records indicate that bail was denied, but a spokesman for the Redmond Police Department noted that it is standard procedure for suspects of domestic violence until they can appear before a judge.

Sherman’s hearing before the judge runs through Thursday afternoon, and the judge will determine whether there was probable cause for an arrest and will also set bail. The domestic violence component of the charge Sherman faces, which is a felony, stems from his relationship with the occupants of the residence.

Sherman, 33, completed his third season with the 49ers in 2020 after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Seahawks. And the NFL said Wednesday that it “investigates any incident involving the police and if there is a violation of the personal conduct policy, the player will face disciplinary action.”

AJ Hawk on Aaron Rodgers: “I feel like he’ll be in Green Bay”

Former linebacker AJ Hawk played nine seasons as Aaron Rodgers teammate on the Packers and the two just spent a week together in Montana. Hawk doesn’t see Rodgers anywhere other than Green Bay this season.

Hawk told Pat McAfee that Rodgers was competitive in his recent golf game against Tom Brady, and that Rodgers will want to compete this season as well: “He likes to compete. Does he strike you as a guy who will sit down and walk away? Aaron looks great. It seems mentally in a good place ”.

Also, Hawk doesn’t see any way for Rodgers to be traded to another team. “What have I said from the beginning? I said, ‘I don’t see him playing anywhere else,’ ”Hawk said. “I don’t see Green Bay changing it. I don’t see that happening. I don’t know how it has to work, but yeah, I feel like it will be in Green Bay. “

Although Rodgers has said that he will make a decision about his future in the coming weeks, this is encouraging news for all Packers fans, as it is practically impossible to get a more reliable source than that of his former teammate who just spent an entire week. together with him.

Dwayne Haskins, injured in domestic violence incident

The wife of the Steelers’ backup quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, was formally charged Wednesday with domestic battery after an incident that occurred on July 3 at the hotel. A piece of his tooth was found on the floor of a room in The Cosmopolitan.

In the altercation Haskins pointed out to a security officer: “I want her out of my room. She hit me and parted my lip. ” The dispute originated over plans for social outings. Kalabrya and his friends were going to a show of Magic Mike, and Dwayne and his friends went to Drai’s Beach Club & Nightclub. Instead of waiting for Kalabrya and the others, Dwayne and his friends left without them. When they returned, the fight turned physical.

Russell Wilson: “My relationship with Pete Carroll is stronger than ever”

During this offseason one of the most controversial topics was Russell Wilson’s stint with the Seahawks. Things got to such a degree that even Wilson’s agent released a list of other teams the quarterback supposedly wanted to play for. However, Wilson pointed out Wednesday that all of this is part of the past:

“I would say that it is stronger [su relación con Caroll]. I think Pete and I have gotten closer. Pete and I have always had a great bond. Coach Carroll and I’s relationship is stronger than ever, ”Wilson said at the Dan Patrick Show.

Similarly, Wilson commented that the Seahawks have had a great offseason and are eager to return to the Super Bowl: “I care about winning, that’s what I want to do. That has always been my goal, that has always been my focus, winning everything. “

Also, despite acknowledging that “at any time in sports there is the possibility of being traded,” Wilson seems content to remain in Seattle. Maybe not forever, but certainly for the 2021 season. Will he lead Seattle to another Super Bowl?

Mahomes on Herbert: “My comments were taken out of context”

In more NFL news, this past Sunday during a round of the American Celebrity Golf Championship, Patrick Mahomes had fun with the fans. At one point, one of them told the Chiefs quarterback to “watch out for Justin Herbert next year.” To which Mahomes replied: “I’ll see it when I believe it.”

Following these comments, the video went viral as it appeared Mahomes lashed out at his rival quarterback in AFC West. However, during a telephone interview Tuesday with Jori Epstein of USA TODAY Sports, Mahomes clarified his comments, noting that he did not intend to poke fun at Herbert: “Yeah, I think it was taken out of context,” Mahomes told Epstein. “I was talking trash to all those Raiders, Broncos and Chargers fans. I have a lot of respect for him as a player ”.

In 2020 Herbert shone in his rookie season: In 15 games as a starter he threw 31 touchdowns, 10 INTs and set the record for passing yards for a rookie with 4,336 yards. Therefore, Mahomes did not hesitate to praise him: “That he comes out in the first year and plays at that level is something special. Not many can. And I know that I will have many difficult matches against him in the future. So it was kind of a joke that I think blew up on Twitter, like most things. I have a lot of respect for him, as a man and as a player ”, concluded Mahomes.

For 2021 Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs remain the clear favorites to win the AFC West, however, Justin Herbert and the Chargers will try to deliver an authority blow by trying to snatch the division from them. Will Herbert be able to surprise Mahomes next year?
