Morikawa is crowned at the British Open


The 149th edition of the British Open, the fourth and last Major Championship of the year, concluded to end the season of major championships. With a fourth and final round of 66 strokes, four below par, Morikawa became the new Open Championship champion with a total of -15 strokes for the championship. Additionally, he became the first player to win two Majors Championship on his first attempt (2020 PGA Championship) and the fourth player to win the British Open before turning 25.

For his part, the Mexican Abraham Ancer registered for the third day in a row a day at one above par, 71 strokes, in which he had a good start of two below par in his first nine holes and a poor closing of three bogeys in his second nine including two in his last two holes of play to close the week with a bitter taste in his mouth.
