Lukas Podolski: Gornik fans escalate completely when presented – football

Goosebumps reception for Lukas Podolski (36) in his native Poland!

In the coming season, the ex-national player (130 international matches) will be chasing goals for first division club Gornik Zabrze and signed a one-year contract on Thursday.

Then Poldi went on his first round of the stadium to present himself to the fans. They were over the moon, received him like a saint!

“What a welcome,” Poldi wrote on Instagram and posted a crazy video from Gornik’s stadium. The completely escalating fans burn down Bengalos and chant Podolski’s name as the one in the shirt with the number 10 steps onto the lawn.

Then he climbs up to the ultras on the fence, stretches the Gornik scarf. Then he gives away his jersey to the fans and does his round of the stadium with a bare chest.

“I’m happy to be at home and to play in this stadium,” he said after signing the contract. “This will be my last club, my last step,” said Podolski, who was born in Gleiwitz, a neighboring town of Zabrze: “I made this decision especially.”

At Gornik one hopes that Podolski will stay longer. “We have known each other for years, and in a year we will see how things continue,” said club president Dariusz Czernik (47).

The 2014 world champion wants to lead Gornik significantly higher than the tenth place, on which the team landed in Poland’s premier league last season. With the mega support from these fans, that shouldn’t be a problem.
