Lukas Nmecha (ex-Anderlecht) moves from Mancester City to…

Lukas Nmecha will continue his career at Wolfsburg, which will definitively take him over from Manchester City, the club announced on Friday evening. Previously, Nmecha was already working at Wolfsburg on a loan basis in the 2019-2020 season. That was not an unqualified success at the time.

Nmecha was loaned out by Manchester City to Anderlecht last season. The 22-year-old attacker was good for 18 goals in 37 league matches. At the beginning of June, the German crowned himself European champion with the national promises. In the final he scored the only goal of the match against Portugal.

Those strong performances earn him a contract until 2025 with the number four of the Bundesliga last season. The striker can therefore prepare for the Champions League with Die Wölfe.

Nmecha already responded to his switch on the club’s twitter channel. “I’m looking forward to seeing many familiar faces again. And especially to finally be able to show what I have to offer here. I am convinced of the path that has been taken here.’

At Wolfsburg, Nmecha becomes a teammate of our compatriot Sebastiaan Bornauw. Earlier in the day, the German club also unveiled the arrival of the two-time Red Devil. He makes the switch from FC Cologne for 17 million euros.
