Lucas Pouille eliminated in the first round of the Hamburg Open

There is still a long way to go for Lucas Pouille. Always in search of his best level, the Frenchman is also in lack of playing time. And it is not in Hamburg that he will accumulate matches. Pouille fell on Tuesday against Dusan Lajovic, seeded No. 5, in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).

Pouille did not have a bad match (except in the service where he was unable to take cover with only 43% of first balls), but he badly negotiated the break points he had at defend. Poor management of tense moments, proof of the lack of competition, which cost him the match.
