A five-point push in the sixth inning for the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday in Buffalo saw them defeat the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 6-3.

The home team’s first hitter had already been called out when the following opened the machine, with a tie of 1 to 1. They filled the cushions first, then Lourdes Gurriel Jr. gave his team the lead by pushing Vladimir Guerrero fils at home thanks to a mistake by opposing third baseman Joey Wendle.

Cavan Biggio then produced two more points, thanks to a single. Santiago Espinal crowned the push, moments later, pushing the ball out of bounds, with a runner on the trails. It was the first career career in major 26-year-old Dominican baseball.

George Springer produced the other point in the lineup for Canada’s only major league roster, with a solo homerun in the second inning.

With this win, the Blue Jays came three games away from the Rays and second in the East section of the American, who also hold the last position available for the wild card playoff game.
