José Adolis and Chapman will be the Cubans in the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star Game

The gardener Jose Adolis Garcia and the closer Aroldis Chapman will be the Cuban representatives in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game to be held on July 13 at Coors Field, Colorado.

Major League Baseball announced the pitchers and rosters of 32 players with whom the American and National league squads will take to the field, after days ago the starting teams selected by the fan vote had been made public.

This time, the manager and player ballots decided that Adolis and Chapman would intervene in the challenge. For the Avilanian outfielder it will be his premiere in this kind of setting, but for the left-hander from Holguín it will mean his seventh presence (He was previously in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019), which will tie him in number of assists with his compatriots Camilo Pascual and Tany Pérez.

After this edition, the only Cubans with more All-Star Games than Chapman will be Minnie Miñoso (13) and Tony Oliva (8).

After the starting teams were announced, six players from the Greater Antilles had survived the first cut of the votes. They were the cases of Yoan Moncada (3B / White Sox), José Abreu (1B / White Sox), Yasmani Grandal (C / White Sox), Yordan Álvarez (BD / Astros), Yulieski Gurriel (1B / Astros) and Adolis García ( OF / Rangers).

However, in the end only Adolis could make the grade, and Chapman joined him later by joining the pitching platoon.

The teams that will fight for each league are the following:
