Joey Gallo sparks interest in the Bronx

The New York Yankees are looking for a player who provides defensive strength in the outfield and can add good at-bats on offense. Joey Gallo, having a good season with the Rangers, looks like the leading candidate.

The Texas lefty has appeared in 84 games this season and has 24 homers and 52 RBIs, with the team currently last in the AL West.

For the Bronx mules, who are running second to last in the east, the arrival of the left-handed outfielder and hitter could be in their favor. According to MLB Network’s Joel Sherman, Gallo has been on the Yankees’ pick list for a while now.

This could be the time when New York management steps up and gets it. Aaron Hicks’ significant loss as a defender from the central prairie is also a relevant reason to make the move.

In addition to the Yankees, the San Diego Padres could also join the Joey dispute. Gallo has a contract with Texas until 2022, so the negotiations could have a high figure for who ultimately takes the player.
