Jhonattan Vegas completed a first round of 68 strokes to place sixth in the Olympic golf tournament.
At Kasumigaseki Country Club, Vegas shared the game with Thomas Detry from Belgium and Finn Kalle Samooja.
The creole completed a first round of 34 strokes, with a bogey on the first hole and three birdies on the 3, 6 and 8. For the second nine holes, Vegas maintained the par of the course in six holes in a row, until adding two birdies on hole 16 and 17.

He could not complete the 18, due to a weather alert, which led to the momentary suspension of the day.
Vegas accumulates -4 in the pair of cnacha of 71 shots, equaled in sixth place with the Colombian Sebastián Muñoz, the British Paul Casey, the Indian Anirban Lahiri, the Swede Alex Noren, the Frenchman Romain Langasque and the Norwegian Viktor Hovland.
Kasumigaseki Country Club is a field of 71 strokes, 6810 meters with a first round of 36 strokes and the second, of 35.
