James Rodríguez, getting closer to staying at Everton

The uncertainty about the future of James Rodríguez continues. Although everything seemed to indicate that the Colombian would leave Everton in this transfer market, the English press affirms that his continuity in the Liverpool club is not ruled out and recently they have increased the chances of having the ’10’ one more year in the Toffees.

After the departure of Carlo Ancelotti and the arrival of Rafa Benítez to the Everton bench, several rumors appeared that placed the Colombian away from England. Even Jorge Mendes, the 30-year-old agent of the midfielder, would have offered it to Milan of Italy. But nevertheless, the versions about his departure have been fading and Liverpool Echo notes that the option to see him next season at Goodison Park “It’s getting more and more likely as the days go by.”

“Those possible transfer links for Colombia’s international have apparently dried up. The rumored interest of AC Milan has certainly not been talked about as much, while the reports that Sevilla threw their hat into the ring do not seem to have much weight behind them at the moment, “published the aforementioned outlet.

Nevertheless, the English club does not rule out the possibility of selling the midfielder either before the end of the transfer period, I would only let it out though if an offer comes in that meets expectations, something that so far has not happened.

“The Colombian international has been told that he will be allowed to leave the club if he is presented with a suitable offer (…) But there are no guarantees in this sport. Even with Everton telling their player that he could be allowed to leave, it is unknown if that acceptable offer will come through. At least at this time, it doesn’t appear to be coming from any avenue, “Echo added.

Meanwhile, James and Everton continue in Orlando facing the Florida Cup. This Wednesday, Rafa Benítez’s team will play a friendly against Pumas UNAM from Mexico at the Camping World Stadium, starting at 5:00 pm (Colombian time). Recently, the English defeated Millonarios on penalties.
