LONDON, iNews.id – England winger Jadon Sancho has opened up about his failure to execute a penalty in the Euro 2020 final. He admits this is the worst feeling in his career.
The Three Lions meet Italy in the final match of Euro 2020 at Wembley, Monday (12/7/2021) early morning WIB. Both teams drew 1-1 until extra time.
Sancho just entered in the second half of addition. The new Manchester United player was then appointed as England’s fourth executioner.
Unfortunately he failed to carry out his duties. He became one of three executors who were unable to net the ball besides Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka. England eventually lost 2-3.
“I want to apologize to all my teammates, the coaching staff and most of all the fans that I have let down. This is by far the worst feeling I have ever felt in my career,” Sancho said, quoted by Marca, Thursday (15/7/2021).
“It’s hard even to express true feelings in words. But there are a lot of positives to take from this tournament even though the defeat will hurt for a long time.”
