Vittorio Mottola, former municipal councilor of the PD and professor of physical education. For him, evidently, the Tricolor represents a symbol to be loved and honored. Precisely for the love of the Tricolore, in fact, the News ended up in all the newspapers (and even on I Nuovi Mostri di Striscia la Notizia) together with the former Northern League councilor Diego Peverelli, when in March 2011 they threw the Italian flag on themselves during the municipal council of Como. For those who have lost or forgotten this historical page of Como politics, here is the video document (an exclusive that brought QuiComo notoriety at national level and earned the first Chronicler of the Year award by Guido Vergani in the web section).

In short, Mottola really cares about the Tricolore and on the occasion of Italy’s victory in the semifinals against Spain at the European championships, he wanted to express some considerations that arose spontaneously after noticing with disappointment that in his neighborhood only he exhibited the bandioera (actually a maxi flag).
“The love for the country and the national team – writes Mottola in his short comment sent to the city newspapers – is shown in identifying with the only symbol we love: the flag. Too bad it is only displayed on my balcony. sporting Italy could wake us up from this bad moment. I am disconcerted that in my area the victories were not followed by some trumpet or some shout. Or even some silent sign, such as displaying a flag. For the moment on the Swiss front (Mottola lives in Sagnino , ed) “.
