Indonesia’s Results at the Tokyo Olympics, Ahsan/Hendra et al Cover the Defeat of Youth Arrows Page all

KOMPAS.com – There are four Indonesian representatives who have just finished their struggle at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics today, Tuesday (27/7/2021).

Three of the four fighters competed in the sport (sport) of badminton. Meanwhile, one other representative competed in the archery event at the Tokyo Olympics.

At the Tokyo Olympics badminton, Indonesia was represented by Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu (women’s doubles), and two men’s doubles champions Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.

As for the archery arena, the Red and White Team was represented by 17-year-old teenage archer Arif Dwi Pangestu.

Then, how the results of the representatives of Indonesia at the Tokyo Olympics today?

Starting with badminton. The three Indonesian representatives above qualified for the quarter-finals with group winners status, although not all of them won their last match in their respective group stage.

Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu managed to beat the host’s envoy Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota in the third match aka the final Group A.

Competing on Field 1 Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Greysia won the rubber game 24-22, 13-21, 21-8 over the women’s doubles, world number one.

Greysia/Apriyani have actually confirmed their place in the last eight after winning over Chloe Birch/Lauren Smith in the second party of Group A, last Monday.

However, the result of the match against Yuki/Sayaka, ensured that the world number six women’s doubles pair qualified for the quarter-finals with the status of Group A winners.

After Greysia/Apriyani, it was Marcus/Kevin’s turn to seal a place in the round of 8 after winning Group A in the men’s doubles sector.

Unfortunately, in the third match today, The Minions lost to Taiwanese representative Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin in three games with a score of 18-21, 21-15, 17-21.

Marcus/Kevin and Lee/Wang actually both collected two wins from three matches in the group phase.

However, Marcus/Kevin deserve to be at the top because they excel in the count game different (5-2) over Lee/Wang (5-3).

Unlike Marcus/Kevin who lost, Ahsan/Hendra won in their third party in Group D.

They won rubber game over Choi Sol-gyu/Seo Seung-jae (South Korea) with a score of 21-12, 19-21, 21-18.

With that result, The Daddies swept three wins and advanced to the Tokyo Olympic badminton quarter-finals as Group D winners.

Unfortunately, the positive results of the Indonesian representatives in the badminton arena could not be followed by Arif Dwi Pangestu who took part in the archery individual number.

Arif Dwi’s steps were stopped in the round of 32 after losing 2-6 to German archer Florian Unruh, in a match that took place at the Yumenoshima Final Field.

In the first set, Arif Dwi could only collect 24 points, while his opponent managed to pack four more points.

Arif Dwi had equalized the position at 2-2 in the second set after he collected 28 points, while Florian was only 26.

However, in the third and fourth sets, Arif Dwi was no better than his opponent. He was only able to pocket 24 points in the third set and 25 points in the fourth set.

On the other hand, Florian swept the last two sets with 28 and 27 points.
