Joshua Zirkzee was awarded to Serie A by Bayern last season. Is the storm talent now drawn to an Italian club again?

After his unsuccessful loan to Serie A in the second half of the previous season, Bayern striker Joshua Zirkzee’s future could also be in Italy. As Sky Italy reported that first division promoted Hellas Verona expressed interest in a commitment.

A loan of the 20-year-old Dutchman is therefore conceivable, although the project for Verona is described as “complicated” – especially since other clubs from other European countries have knocked on a Zirkzee commitment at Bayern. The daily newspaper based in Verona The Arena adds that Hellas is trying to secure a purchase option of eight million euros beyond the loan.

Zirkzee was loaned to Parma Calcio for half a year in February, and due to injuries, the tall attacker only made four appearances and 108 minutes of play. As a result, the relegated did not pull the 15 million euro purchase option. However, staying in Munich also appears questionable.

In the striker hierarchy, he is only third behind Robert Lewandowski and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, in the friendly against Ajax Zirkzee caused an inglorious climax when he negligently missed a big chance. “I hope that he will show a different seriousness in such a situation in a competitive game,” warned coach Julian Nagelsmann after the final whistle.

“I’m not going to talk to him because he knows he can solve it better,” said Nagelsmann. When introducing the new trainer, CEO Oliver Kahn emphasized that one of Nagelsmann’s main tasks was to “develop youngsters like Zirkzee and bring them to the next level”.
