Heat stroke and wheelchair retirement for Paula Badosa

Paula Badosa withdrew from the singles quarterfinals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, before Marketa Vondrousova, after suffering a heat stroke.

The Spanish had lost 6-3 the first set when she had to leave the court in a wheelchair due to the heat in the Japanese capital. Paula, 23, was playing her first Olympic Game.

Vondrousova will play semifinals against Elina Svitolina (the player with the highest ranking in the box) looking to secure medal.
