The Mexican
Haramara Gaitán
lost their second group stage match to Jia Min Yeo of Singapore in the
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
and ends his participation in the Olympic joust.
The duel that was presented to the Mexican lasted 25 minutes before an experienced contestant who had already reached the quarterfinals of the world championship.
The 24-year-old Gaitán showed up for his second match, one that was many minutes late and was not easy, since in the first match he ended up losing 21-7 in just 12 minutes.
The second battle was one of greater resistance on the part of the Mexican, who managed to score 10 points, but was surpassed in experience and the game also went to Jia Min Yeo.
After having lost in his debut against Gaeun Kim, Gaitán’s participation in Tokyo 2020 ends, the highest competition in which he has participated, since he has only been able to attend the Pan American Championships and Games, without having world-class experience and now he adds to his record the Olympic touch.
For his part, Jia Min Yeo faced his first match and next Wednesday he will face South Korea’s Gaeun Kim in his second game at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
